I think people are forgetting the damage that has been done to the squad by Martinez - it's gone backwards during his tenure. Some like Stones/Barkley have looked totally out of sorts but worse than that is the shocking fitness levels. The ship needs steadying, the squad needs sorting out, we need quality reinforcements. While we were all dreaming about the likes of Mourinho, Simeone, Emery etc - Everton is a major rebuilding job - not for the feint hearted (perhaps this is where Emery lost his bottle?).
It's not going to happen overnight, but if this season we can make headway into the European places then that's a good start and a solid platform to build on. Moshiri has obviously seen something in Koeman that we haven't - it's his gig, we're along for the ride. New manager (and probably a DoF), new stadium in the early planning stages - it's exciting for the future. Get behind him and (more importantly) get behind the team. Martinez is history - we move on
