When this is done, and everything has been crossed and dotted, then even if he wasn't your 'ideal' choice...well, if you can't get behind him and the new dawn rising within our club then you seriously need to sit down and have a biscuit and a big think.

I've just had a convo with a blue who's already stating when and why he thinks KOEMAN's gonna jib us.

Incredible stuff really.

Sheesh...

Simply, we're not as big as some of us think we are.

That may well change though eh...

Christ, last time we took a manager who had just gotten a side relegated after a spunky, unexpected cup win and frig all else.

In compare to that this appointment is a million golden miles ahead (...well, ok, maybe not a million).

Get onboard the big boat or get off it...

I'm not convinced by Koeman but I am open to being convinced. Is that enough?

Wrong team. Before that was fantastic in previous clubs

Not saying he would come in and be world class, obviously would be a risky appointment but who isn't? Who would have thought pelle would be a better signing than osvaldo? Or a rank average youth player in kane would massively outperform soldado?

Just logically if we aren't signing a top striker, then the two obvious choices are bony and someone like bakka. And I would prefer a bakka as he is a proven scorer whereas bony has struggled at City.

But what do I know lol

Fair play to that mate.

I like Bacca, and if he would be available would certainly be a good signing. Just pointing out he has struggled to hit his previous form, albeit he's still bagged his fair share.

If we were to go for any player from Milan though, for me it has to be Bonaventura. Exactly what we need for that left wing position IMO. Anyway, enough of that for now, that's for the transfer thread...

We'll probably have a very different transfer policy to the last 3 years. Can't believe the negativity on here. Emery was a huge risk. Transferring his skills to the premiership was not guaranteed> Koeman is a known quantity who knows our league and will now have more money to realise his potential. What's not to like!

I think it is because a few people like to seem knowledgable to the point that no-one is good enough. If we got ferguson it would be 'He took 5 years and broke the British transfer record every year before he was nearly sacked'....Mourihno would be slated because of last season at Chelsea. Every potential manager would have there history dug up to fnd a flaw and they would find it and point it out to all and sundry page after page. It would be best to ask the negative posters who they would like so we can do a bit of googling and slate there choice.

He also said Emery was number 1 on our manager wanted list, and also, Pellegrini was number 2 on that list.

While I'm not claiming Mole was itk, in fairness to him Esk also said that Emery looked the most likely.

By the looks of it, things changed very quickly yesterday with both Koeman and Emery - I believe this was likely due to the reported offer from PSG...

Laurent Blanc signed a 2 year contract extension in February.
