Hang on, how can you rate him highly yet also think he's not good enough?

That's a contradiction living within a tautology, sharing living space with a conundrum

Rated him highly in the sense, like all youth players, I want him to succeed and come into the side for the long-term, like I did Shane Duffy, Vaughan, Anichebe etc..

I just don't think he is cut out for this level as he's 23 now and has just had his first successful season, well half a season in League 1. Of course, I may be wrong and we may let go and he could be very good and I'd be disappointed as it's not for us, he just can't seem to make the leap to this level.

Plus now it looks like he's been surpassed by the likes of Davies and Dowell.

Any new manager will obviously take a look at him and see if he's deemed necessary, that's why they get paid all sorts to be professionals while I just sit and criticise them on the internet.

Listen,
we have to accept the majority of non Evertonians do not see us as a big club anymore. The Millenial generation see us as no different to the So'tons, West Hams, Stokes etc of this world (and why would they)
History has never won anything and in recent times it hasnt bought anything
We are simply not as "big" as some blues would like to think

BUT

We were....and under new management, owenership and guidance, we may well be again. And if and when we are....its will be SO Sweet
But until then, lets lay off the images of grandeur, it only sets us up for falls.

Why are you persisting on hyping up a 23 year old who hasn't even been able to be consistently good for Wigan in League One as good enough for the first team?
He's simply at this moment in time not good enough for the Premier League.

I saw a spark in Conor mate

I really did

I don't see it often

I think he needs that right manager to get him to his absolute best

It could happen for him at the top level

People always discount his injury

In my mind, he's only really 21, and based off that criteria he has more to give

mcaleny is not cut out for premier league football with everton fc, neither was duffy, neither is leigh griffiths, neither is half the people you suggest.

Literally chill out, and raise your expectations with regards to players because at the moment as long as they're young-ish you seem to accept sub-standard performers.

mcalenly will move to a league one club and either fail miserably or do half a job.

Virgil is top of Mikey's wish list of players Ronald might sign :)
