@MoutsGoat - is that you mate?

We beat Arsenal 4-0, one result doesn't define a season. The 6-1 was poor, but we had Steven Caulker in defence, and they just thoroughly outplayed us, which happens. Koeman took a team that over performed the season before, lost his best centre back (Toby) and his best midfielder (Schniederlin), spent less on there replacements, and then took us a place higher in the league.

Edit: Forgot to add losing Clyne as well, one of the best right backs in the league. Who we replaced with Cedric and Cuco Martina.

Don't remember the Arsenal result but cheers for the reply mate.

Have my doubts just off what I've seen, don't go out my way to watch your games so off what I've seen, I'm worried.

Last time I saw yous was the 1-1 at Goodison and we'd given up on Martinez and yous should have bummed us Dry, we somehow got a point.

Is 6th considered good for your team mate?

I mean considering you got smashed in both cups the last 2 years.
Yes, is qualifying for European football, ever a bad thing? We're Southampton, we got promoted 4 years ago, we're not the biggest team in the league, but we consistently outperform what we're expected to do, we have had 7 years of improvement in league position, which is pretty remarkable.

I think it's easy to under-estimate how difficult it is to break into the top 4/6, but we have done exceptionally well to qualify for Europe in the last two years, with a negative net spend. The Everton board obviously think it's a 'good thing' or a achievement because they are spending big-big money to get Koeman in the building.

Edit: Reading it back it sounds a bit preachy, wasn't intended to. Just wanted to say that it really is achievement that we have done as well, as we have.
