Seriously is this on or off?

On.

Yes, is qualifying for European football, ever a bad thing? We're Southampton, we got promoted 4 years ago, we're not the biggest team in the league, but we consistently outperform what we're expected to do, we have had 7 years of improvement in league position, which is pretty remarkable.

I think it's easy to under-estimate how difficult it is to break into the top 4/6, but we have done exceptionally well to qualify for Europe in the last two years, with a negative net spend. The Everton board obviously think it's a 'good thing' or a achievement because they are spending big-big money to get Koeman in the building.

Edit: Reading it back it sounds a bit preachy, wasn't intended to. Just wanted to say that it really is achievement that we have done as well, as we have.

No problem mate, the answer I expected from a level headed fan.

Stick around lad.

I'm a saints fan, from everything thats been said and from our own ITK, seems like Koeman is on his way to you guys. I'm sad to see him go, he did us a very good turn, and really helped the club in a hard time for us.

Disappointed to see him go, but I have faith that we will find a good manager to succeed him, and that our club is in safe hands. Slightly suprised to see him go to you guys, your definitely the bigger club, but after two years of hard work with us and another crack at Europa this season, it's slightly surprising he would give that up, for rebuilding a struggling team (even with the promise of huge investment.)

A question to you Everton fans, with City, United, Wet Spam, Chelski and you lot all planning on big overhauls of your squads and spending X hundred million, do you think A) there are enough good players out there, for all these big clubs? B) By saying you have 150 million to spend aren't you opening yourselves up to overpaying massively on players, as clubs know you have cash to burn?

Couldn't agree more, this window is going to be brutal, with too much money chasing too little talent.

Our pages are 50 posts each though! Not quite this mammoth thread, but would still be 1900 posts.
Look mate, it's ridiculous for you to suggest you're as big as a thread as us. This was one of the first threads to have a post exceed 100 posts in an hour. We have the kind of ambition here to expect our threads to regularly exceed 3000 with more than 89% of the posts to be sheer fume. Think about that. And then you have to factor in the transfer thread. This has been known to physically slow down the internet. Particularly when West Ham beat us to a player.
