I know that but was he an Unsworth or a Stones type of player?
Cruyff's Barcelona won 4 league titles on the run from 91 to 94 playing fast, intelligent possession football but not in the crab like manner many teams do today. Playing from the back, everything started with Koeman. Passing range better than any defender I've seen.
In 94 they beat R. Madrid 5-0. The following season Madrid returned the compliment with a 5-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu. they were showboating a bit and Koeman was the only one who seemed intent on stopping them scoring more.
So, to answer your question he was more like Stones, especially on the ball (but better). However he had a bit of Rhino in him when defending.

The Koeman barca side of the 90s are still to my mind the best barca team ever

Has the compo been settled yet, or is Mr Moshiri sorting out his loose change for the feeble Saints?

Any Koeman songs yet?

Probably the most exciting team. Guardiola's team was probably more ruthless. Cruyff did have the, 'cough' Martinez 'cough' philosophy* of wanting to outscore the opposition with the difference that he applied it well.. Definitely more fun to watch for neutrals.
