In 2014 we finished with a points total that Southampton will probably never, ever come near. We have since sacked the manager as two seasons of massively underperforming and finishing 11th just isn't good enough for us.

You've finished 7th then 6th. I accept that this is as good as it has ever been for Southampton but there hasn't been some power shift. You're not catching us up in any meaningful way.

The bigger clubs will always take the best you have to offer and Everton will always be bigger than Southampton. Success is always more likely when you have a greater standing in the game, more fans and more money.

I actually don't wish you ill in the slightest and think you're a decent and non offensive club. I hope to see you continue to do well.

Thats not strictly true as they were a reasonably strong side in the late 70s through to mid 80s.

Bloody hell what's the stigma against English players? JWP is a great midfielder.
According to saints fans he isn't. Quite the opposite

Personally I want to see Koeman look elsewhere for players other than Southampton. Sign a few squad players and then sign a few statement players, bigger talented ones. If we do that then the team will look far better than it does now.

Cillesen, the Dutch striker people keep mentioning, tete, the Turkish lad good at free kicks, Wijnaldum and a striker.

Thst would do me. Two midfielders to give us options, back up right back, new decent keeper, second striker as an option and a first choice striker who is meant to be good and will probably fit koemans system.

Easily under the money available as well and the team will still be in a good position with only really rom leaving it.

Calhanoglu? I would love it if we signed him, love it

Nothing specific currently other than he remains a target. Will update when possible.

I'm guessing that at Sevilla, Monchi has a major say in who the new manager is. I see a director of football as a fountain of knowledge, someone who guides the board and offers an insight.

Does it not feel a bit back to front if we appoint a manager before a director of football? You would have thought the Director of football would want to be sure the manager buys into ha way of doing things.

Agreed, back on topic.

Come on Unai, get on that phone and claim your destiny.

Has Vitor signed yet?

Missing Unai this time does remind of missing out on Vitor last time. Choosing supposed safety and conservatism rather than a touch of individual genius that could have gone pear shaped but could have been brilliant, and we will never know.

Just as long as Koeman works better for us this time than Martinez did last time...
