That's just bloody odd. I simply can't beleive even the most passionate Southampton local can think that much of the place. It's terrible. There's literally nothing pretty or of any interest to anyone here.

It has some nice places around it, but actual Southampton is truly awful.
Just as a matter of interest, ijjy, why do you live there, then?

No footballer manager goes down the "unfair dismissal" route as there is a statutory cap on compensation of £79,000.

He would have to go down the breach of contract route. That would be dependent upon there being, or not being an agreed payment termination clause - highly unlikely that there is not such a clause in his contract. However if there was not such a clause then he would pursue "breach of contract" and the resulting damages.

Absolutely correct

Didn't really know where to post this so apologies if it's not the right place. Was out at a party tonight and got talking to a girl my Mrs knows. She works for Martinez's agent and said apparently Roberto is taking us to court for wrongful dismissal, don't know if anyone else has heard this

How wrongful was it...he was crap at doing his job and was not up to it that's why he was sacked. And our club had fully paid his compensation and made him a bloody rich man. If he dares to take Everton to court it would show how unfaithful and deluded was Martinez as a person.

The boss can always sack a employee if his performance is not up to the standard. As long as one is compensated fully, as stated in the original contract then a notice is not essential at all in this circumstances.

Martinez took us to our knees and Moshiri has just dealt the killing blow.
Not so sure you know.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the sound of Emery, BUT, he hadn't won an away game all season apparently. Yes it's hard to ignore 3 UEFA cups but perhaps Koeman is the better league manager.

We've just got rid of a decent cup manager, I'm not sure we needed another one (and I'm not saying Martinez is equal to Emery).

If koeman is our man (and all polls suggest he wasn't fans number one choice) then please let's back the manager. With the exception of robertos 1st season going to goodison has become less and less of a fun experience since around 2009....
Last year was the most toxic I've witnessed ever. Two of our main wishes have been granted in that BK is less of the main man and Martinez has finally gone.
Mosh at the moment is our white knight, one we've been vehemently waiting on for over a decade.
Hopefully this is the start of progress and the club is finally sharing our ambition to get back to being the best. Whether koeman is the man who brings us success, builds the platform for it or (and I hope not) he fails then I believe our new board will make the right decisions at the right times.
We wanted a manager in place before the euros too and that's looking odds on now, we've supposedly got 100 mill to spend so let's get behind Ron from day one, make goodison a place we look forward to going too and put pressure on the board if he fails or if their words are louder than their actions.
