I dunno what you're all panicking about, it's done everybody knows it's done, it's been done since last Friday. We're obviously waiting until he's back from holidays to put pen to paper until then we can't announce.

Unless he does an Unsworth of course

Anyone think this dragging out may be a strategic move to just get people talking about Everton, get our name out there. If we'd done it overnight and announced it last Thursday no one in the media would even remember it had happened now.

The narrative had changed over the last week from this is "clearly a sideways or downwards move" to "Everton are aristocracy". This sort of thing can only help when approaching commercial partners, they want to be associated with the clubs that get column inches and general media coverage.

Maybe I'm over thinking it while procrastinating before leaving for work.

That thought crossed my mind too, it makes sense to have seperate announcements for the manager and DoF to keep our name out there for the right reasons. We need to be everywhere this Summer making statements and banishing this 'who's bigger' rubbish, we need to show them who's bigger by getting in everyone's face.

Ok, I've highlighted where I think your argument falls down...

Koeman's contract has been done for days. The last couple of days have been details for Erwin Koeman, Jan Kluitenberg, who we want to approach as GK coach etc. There is no sense of urgency as he won't start work until next week. I know we love the jitters etc. but there is no need for panic.
