I really hope its just contractual issues with Koeman, if he was in any way lukewarm about us now and backtracked on a previous agreement, formal or informal, if such was in place, that would be a massive no from me, even if it left us with a much bigger problem.

We are quite vulnerable now to having to cave in on his / other demands, given the pressure to make the appointment is going to increase the longer this goes unresolved.

Got a bad feeling about all of this. Does seem peculiar just how long it’s taken to sort a deal, especially given how long has passed since we supposedly first made contact.

I don't see why you have a bad feeling. We wanted Koeman, they didn't want to lose him and they certainly didn't want everyone to think he was moving to a 'bigger' club when it was us so as was said previously, face-saving exercise. They are playing hard ball, it's quite obvious. Those forum posts from Jack Poopoo? They don't add up. It's not just a fan imo, it's part of the face saving I reckon. But to have a bad feeling? It's just business..

remember when I was told to relax because it was all done and dusted?, well yep the Moshiri era really isn't getting off to the best of starts is it

Can't 100% blame moshiri yet, although he has not impressed me like some of the gullible people on this site he has not had a chance to prove himself yet fully apart from speculation that he sacked bobby brown shoes or '' done deal koeman'

We will see his true colours over next 48 hours i guess if nothing has come out that looks valid we can start asking questions to find out if moshiri is just another kenwright scam

there were plenty of warnings on the web from a few select people close to this

no doubt, he will sign for you and it will be spun in all sorts of ways and all will be happy
but all kind of weird, don't you think?

Dutchman back of his family break but negotiations to drag on
Ronald Koeman is due to hold face-to-face talks with Everton today after returning from holiday.

But his appointment as Roberto Martinez’s successor could yet still drag into the middle of the week.

Everton agreed a £5m compensation package with Southampton last week to free Koeman - and two trusted assistants - from their contracts at St Mary’s.

But a deal to finalise the 53-year-old Dutchman as the Blues’ new boss was delayed as Koeman jetted off for a second pre-planned family holiday.

The former Ajax and Valencia boss has now returned to England and negotiations over his £6m-a-year contract will pick up pace.

Ronald Koeman and brother Erwin
But the ECHO has learnt that although no issues are anticipated, it is believed that it may take until Wednesday before Everton can unveil Koeman as their new boss.

Koeman’s brother Erwin and Jan Kluitemberg, Southampton’s fitness coach, will follow him to Goodison once a deal is complete.

saints fans do not choose their manager. Koeman and the club (SFC) have said nothing. Therefore, easy bit of spin to reverse all this, should that be the case (not that I think that will happen what so ever)

James, you are correct fans do not choose their manager but they do choose when to get rid as we recently did, once the fan's turn against you your days are numbered,do you honestly believe that in the very unlikely event that this did fall through (and it wont) that the Saints fans would allow him to manage the club for the year that's remaining on his contract? go and have a lie down mate, the spin that you are putting on this deal is laughable and you are p*ssing into the wind.

People have said contact was made around martinez sacking, why would on earth it take over a month? something is off and the itks may of jumped the gun. I think koeman will be done but something not right here i can't put my finger on just yet

don't worry mate if it all goes tits up I've already thrown my name in the ring and I've got an NVQ level 2 in football coaching.

No panic as we are in safe hands with me ready to stand in.

He delegated the negotiations to Jansen before he left, but its incredibly naive to believe there werent any sticking points that will have needed Koemans input over the course of the week.

Few days is irrelevant when youre talking about a 3/4 year deal paying someone £20m
