I'm just glad you didn't ask the percentage chance of Martinez staying. You won't like it.

I'm at a loss as to why, if it's already decided Martinez is a goner, they don't announce now that Martinez will be leaving by "mutual consent" at the end of the season.

Surely that would change the mood within the fan base and players...

The players will already know.

If the fans need mood lift before a Derby and a Semi Final they aint fans.

Well ignoring what I consider realism, my list would be :

1 Jose
2 Simeone
3 Emery
4 De Boer
5 Cocu
6 AVB
7 Pellegrini

Think the phone call with names 2 and 3 would be very short.

Remember last time - Mick McCarthy, Neil Lennon, Phil Neville. Jesus.

Actually, I think Jesus declined the interview.

Shows how far the ambitions of the fans has changed in the last few months.
Maybe the School of Science really is on it's way back, just not the way we thought it would happen.

I'd take Pellegrini, seems a decent guy and had good success with Man City. I'm not sure how much control he had of transfers, but he does seem to be the type who would rather buy expensive, proven players (worked with KDB, but Bony is a flop imo) than buy cheaper but riskier targets like what we do. I don't think Moshishishishi is loaded enough to fund transfers like Pellegrini is used to. Same goes for Jose M. Also, I reckon both will want high wages though.

Has anyone mentioned Rudi Garcia? He was sacked by Roma in January after a poor run and hasn't found a new club yet. Won Ligue 1 with Lille in 2010-2011 along with the french domestic cup, runner up in Serie A with Roma for the previous two seasons and named "French Manager of the Year" three times (2011, 2013, 2014). I wouldn't turn my nose up if we got him.
His overall winrate as a manager isn't that great (46.52%), but that's mainly because of time spent with two crappy french division 2 teams. Even so, it's a couple lightyears better than RMs...

Garcia's managerial stats:

Edit: not that any of this matters. I'm waiting for the arrival of Neil Warnock, knowing our luck.

We're getting someone, of that I'm pretty sure.
When it's not Eddie Ho

Now let's see if it was delusional or not. A lot of hope (which is great) without any substantive evidence (let's hope it materializes
).

It would make club look stupid if we would lose either the derby and semi or both. It would be the first Excuse " how could everton be so stupid that announce this kind of news just before important games" "Martinez basically threw the towel in" etc etc...

Club is doing it right. Wont take long till rumours about our new manager will start to surface, though....

Does anyone know what Mourinho was like with developing players and youth management at Benfica, Leiria and Porto before he had money to throw around?

Given he won a Portuguese title and Champs League with Porto before he had wads of cash to splash... and worked under the late Bobby Robson for a while, you would think he does have some genuine coaching ideas and credentials aside from his skills in buying and winding up media/other managers/referees et al ?
