Theres still some serious opposition to Jose at board level at utd. Thinking he comes with too much 'bagagge/nonsense'. Not a given they'd go for him even if their dutch guy off sesame street is hooked

Tend to agree. If Utd wanted Mourinho, they'd have secured him by now - they've had most of the season to make it happen, not to mention opportunities since Ferguson retired.

There are two things that go against that are (1) He has signed up and they're keeping it quiet, (2) Utd won't accept missing out on the Champions League so will bite the bullet against their previous stance and sign him up after the Cup final.

The United fans are talking about LVG being sacked BEFORE the FA cup. I just can't see him being there after the final.

If not Mourinho, who?

Moyes himself said the minimum requirement was for a United manager to reach the top 4. He knew and found out the consequences for failing to do this. When you consider LVG has spent 200m and not got there, fa cup win or no fa cup win, LVG won't be manager next season.

So other than Mourinho what top managers are there?

Nobody seems to be able to answer this.

I admit, my knowledge of European football isn't informed enough to answer, but personally, I'd be more excited about a manager who has won the last 2 Europa Leagues over one who has been successful domestically with a highly-established club in Holland.

ancelloti, Guardiola and simeone...obvs only siomeone as a remote chance and I'm sure I read he wouldn't wanna mange in England cos of the language

its mourinho and then a raft of managers all at a similar level

That Emery yeah?

He does seem a good shout. Younger than I thought too. How do Sevilla do in La Liga, like top 5 is it most often?

I don't disagree, but my point is that they have a well-known aversion to Mourinho and even if LVG is jibbed off, they won't necessarily go for Mourinho. I'm not just saying that because I want JM for Everton either - it wouldn't surprise me if they went for Blanc for example.

We need a manager who will encourage the sort of play we saw today OK last game nothing to win or lose The whole team looked as if a weight was off their shoulders .. Davies, Connolly, Kenny (a real defender) Dowell, Pennington have to be in our new manager's vision Enjoyed the game hoping for better times ahead and a return to NSNO Dream On !!

I've heard this from a united fan I work with. He reckons the United board and Charlton and Fergie are basically demanding that Giggs is their next manager.
It seems fairly well suspected in Manchester that neither Whisky Nose nor Baldy Charlton want Jose.

Practically none of the Untied fans within the company I work for in Manchester want him, they're bewitched with the notion of Giggs being the next Messiah... wierdos the lot of 'em, and while we're in the hunt for Jose, long may their delusion rule.
