One thing I hate about us looking at new managers are the inevitable BBC/Talksport shoving their mates in the frame for the job like Alladyce & Moyes.

Really does my head in - I wonder if its the same with other clubs around us or if we are used to peddle the crap off to?

Happens to every club bar the Sky 6, not exclusive to us alone

I think the club are being very clever by not reacting in a knee jerk fashion and sacking Silva immediately after yesterday.
They are thinking longer term by assessing whether to appoint a short term solution manager to keep us in the Premier league or a longer term man to get us out of the Championship.
Very clever
Very shrewd

Don't get the love for Arteta at all. Is it just a case of thinking that the Guardiola magic has rubbed off on him? I think he's a Brian Kidd waiting to happen. Hopefully he'll get the Arsenal job.
The fact is there is no way to know how Arteta will turn out as a manager until we see him in charge of someone. He might be amazing, he might be atrocious. The law of probabilities suggests he'll be somewhere in between. Part of me thinks that now is not the time for gambles. Another part of me thinks, what the hell, everyone's a gambles, let's go for it

He was unbeaten in the Champions League at Real Madrid. Who's to say they wouldn't have won it if Rafael wasn't fired.

He didn't get Newcastle relegated though did he. They were already down, he had like 5 games to save them.

Whats wrong with 10th or 13th and creating stability with a club that has been yoyoing between divisions, whilst not being able to sign his choice of players. I believe he said he was getting his 5th and 6th choices. One of the reasons he didn't renew his contract was because they pushed certain players on him that he didn't want. In the form table for last 16 matches they were 6th, for last 26 matches they were 8th.

How has he taken Dalian to 10th. Their aim this season is to avoid relegation and build up their youth team, which they have done.

get on Fat Rafael’s number one fan here

This is from Andy Hunter;

Bill Kenwright, the Everton chairman, was urged by a couple of supporters to sack Silva immediately after the game and he, Moshiri and Marcel Brands, the director of football, held talks with Silva afterwards.
David Moyes and Mark Hughes have been discussed as replacements at boardroom level in recent weeks but having sacked Roberto Martínez, Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce since investing in Everton in February 2016, Moshiri has wanted to stand by Silva as he seeks stability at Goodison Park.”

Looking forward to seeing some new grounds in the Championship next season.

Nothing will be the same....
I finally get it now.

Why ? An unproven manger has no chance with this gang of mercenaries - we require experience to get through this.
And Moyes has years and years of experience of mediocrity. We have to treat this as an opportunity to get in a new manager with fresh ideas and have faith that with this in place we won't go down and give them time to build.

What's the point of appointing Moyes? It'll be Allardyce all over again; loads of money spent on getting him just to keep us up which will probably happen anyway, and then a fortune spent on punting him again. If we appoint him as a long-term manager, we may as well withdraw applications for Bramley Moore as we have zero ambition as opposed to our usual limited ambition.
