Think its just paper talk tbh mate the board wouldn't know what a Marcelino is.

I would definitely have him over Silva though or any current manager in the Prem who we could attract.

Show some cajones and get Jose in from the Sky studio
I bet Brands knows him. But yeah it's just a rumour but hopefully means we are looking.

Valencia should be competing in the Champions League they are a big club in Spain, its not that exceptional.
Maybe but they were a mess before he took over to be fair. He sounds decent but probably not suited to our job, still that was probably said about Poch when he came over.

The more Brands sticks around Kenwright and Moshiri the more he'll be evertonised.

He went from punts on Mina/Bernard/foreign exports to zaha/iwobi/smalling/rojo lazy prem punts in the space of 1 year.

There are so many good managers out there that would improve us.

If we aren't going after any of them and look at underwhelming names then I think I really will lose interest in football.

Not arsed about this backing the manager nonsense. That's what Geordies do when they keep hiring crap managers. Next one has go have some air of enthusiasm about it or we may as well call it quits and accept there won't be improvement

No Silva doing well in the Portuguese 1st division and the Europa league impresses me more than a solitary knock out cup win.
Bob Stokoe won the cup with Sunderland and I never wanted him to manage us.
Martinez won the cup with Wigan and that turned out well for us didn’t it?
I am also more impressed with Silva at Sporting and Olympiakos than anything Marcelino achieved so far.
If we do end up dismissing Silva I hope we can do better than a mediocre Spaniard with a solitary cup win under his belt.
I would like to know what manager you think we could replace him with since you seem to brush him off so easily, I mean it's not like Everton fans want a cup win or anything.

There is a world full of managers and many with far more impressive records than this rather non-descript Spaniard. I would hope Brands would be able to secure a more suitable appointment if and when the time comes. It is ,after all, part of his remit.
As of now we still have a manager in situ, and I’m looking forward to the game against Watford and next Sunday’s clash with Spurs.

No wonder managers don't survive here and we end up rebooting time and time again. Why do we even have a next manager thread. Maybe if we spent as much time supporting the current manager as we do having wet dreams over the next one we might actually achieve something.

support what.
losing 6 out of 10 games?
Being 17th with a generous fixture list?
The manager not coming behind to win a game in 24 league games?

Nothing has changed so I'll say it for the 3rd time...The only thing keeping Silva in a job is the lack of a decent candidate to replace him.
