Arteta turning us into Man City lite would not be the worst thing in the world
I’m massively torn about Arteta to be fair.

The romantic in me wants to give him a go, and the romance/nostalgia part is backed up by the fact that he’s been very very highly rated as a coach - there were even stories back when he was doing his badges that he was the most promising student that had come through the program... and how often do you see national paper stories about someone doing their badges? Then he’s had what, 3yrs working under the best manager in the world? You’d certainly HOPE he would have learned something.

But then on the other hand, it’s definitely a risk. He IS untested in actually leading a team (as a manager), and it would be a big challenge for him.

But then I look at the other candidates, and to be honest, there isn’t anyone there who isn’t going to be a risk. (NB. At least 2, possibly 3 of the top 4 vote-getters in this poll simply aren’t coming to Everton)

I'm sold. Team Arteta!!

I’m all for him tbf, much rather see him come to the club and want to prove himself than see another loser come and collect a pay cheque

We can't attract the players needed to play the way City do... We need a manager with a different style of play than what Arteta would try to do, and what Silva is failing with right now...
What are you talking about? We could play exactly like City. We just need to go out and get Sterling, Aguero, De Bruyne, Otamendi, Mendy, Foden, Walker, B. Silva, and Sané.

Don’t get me wrong i wouldn’t expect us to set the world alight but we could certainly build a platform by playing football this way. At the moment we have no identity or style at all. For the record I think Pickford, Mina, Digne, Gomes and Kean could all play in the sort of style I would imagine Arteta to bring
