After much thinking my dream appointment would be a Arteta/Ferguson double act. We need the players to understand what it means to pull that royal blue jersey on and what is expected of them, and if they don't then they can leave.. I don't want another fancy dan manager who really doesn't give a toss as long as his bank balance is being topped up. We've just had 4 of them on the bounce and it hasn't worked.

It is time to put an Everton man in charge.

Not really. Ancelotti is known for swerving training sessions - just like Koeman. In order for Ancelotti's style of management to work you need a number of strong leaders within the player base. We don't have them, so Ancelotti swerves training and the players do 10 minutes of keepie uppies followed by a few games of fifa then stack for the day. The output of all this malarky is we'd get bummed every weekend and we'd all be calling for Ancelotti's head.

He's NEA!
You put it much better than I ever could ;)

Ancelotti or Marcelino fit us best right now. Moyes would be ok as a interim appointment. The rest are all gambles, unattainable or not good enough.

This crossed my mind too but I’d be concerned about the defensive side of the game. I look at Arteta’s mentors (Wenger & Guardiola) and I worry defensively we won’t grow and that’s something we need to do this season. Maybe he took on board a bit of Moysey too though
