Ok guys and girls, not sure who is following the betting trends but there is an almighty gamble taking place in the last few hours on Moyes. He had drifted to 10/1 and all of a sudden he's been uplifted everywhere and is now massive odds on again

Surely with all these names and availability we wont just appoint Moyes. Surely we cannot do this

This crossed my mind too but I’d be concerned about the defensive side of the game. I look at Arteta’s mentors (Wenger & Guardiola) and I worry defensively we won’t grow and that’s something we need to do this season. Maybe he took on board a bit of Moysey too though

My thinking is Mikel no1 and Duncan his no2. Between them I'm sure they would know how to sure up the defence. What you get from both is silk and steel which is the Everton way, and of course you have 2 men who know exactly what this club is about. Together they tick every box for me.

Pereira has been close to the front of the betting all along. Been mentioned by all journalists that are somewhat credible.
I think he is definitely the number 1 target.

Hard to see how a quick appointment is possible if rumours of the three overlords being unable to agree on a direction are true (I definitely believe it).

...be interesting who is identifying targets. I’d be thinking any foreign based coaches are the remit of Brands and I’m not sure Pereira would be the type he wants. Time will tell.

I still think/hope it could.
Apparently River Plate have a cup final to play on Friday and any announcement could therefore be delayed until Sat. at the earliest.
That would explain the apparent inertia in which the press are cobbling together various unsubstantiated rumours and the punters are reacting by betting the latest red herring that pops up.
That’s my theory anyway.
