Can someone explain holding penalties to me? I dont get them. I cant tell the difference between a legal block and a hold and there is zero consistency on what is called.

It might be time for teams to stop drafting Ohio State QB's. They don't seem to ever work out.

Out of fairness to Fields, he does have a truly dismal head coach to deal with. Once the Bucs went up 21-0 I went out and mowed the yard. That game was done and dusted.
I guess my point is more about how bad Ohio State QB's are at the next level.

So many more. I think the most successful QB they've had in the NFL is Mike Tomczak. Crazy for such a huge program.

Crazy when you think of it. So many good pros from Ohio State but none at QB
I grew up playing football, love the game. I actually liked it more than actual football, but I was better at that and the seasons run concurrent when you get older so I ended up stopping at about 14. I ended up making the right choice, I like football far more as an adult. But the two sports honestly always vie for 1 for me. It could change by the month.
I say that not like it makes me an expert. Honestly, it's just like football. It's probably in all sports. I know guys I grew up with who played up until adult hood, and they couldn't tell you basic things like what a cover 1 or a cover 2 is. They can't look at a play and tell you what the teams called after watching it. Because to me that is crazy, I don't know how you played a sport that long and remain clueless...
Anyways, that was rambling, it is really one of the worst constructed sports when it comes to the rule book.
The technique they teach you is to explode up through the guys chest off the snap, drive forward with your arms pushing out with your palms flat and your thumb out. You wanna get that thumb drive right up under there shoulder pads in the inside of there chest, grab, and drive. See... They're even holding. Generally that is accepted.
When a guy is starting to get beat his hands are gonna drift out to one shoulder or the other naturally because the defender is pushing pass him. Whenever you see a guy with his hands out towards shoulders and arms and not towards the chest. It's going to get called.
It's very similar to extending your arms after or while going in on a challenge in football. It's not the you can't physically knock a guy off the ball, you just gotta keep your arms in and wedge to the ball. You could use the same amount of force but when the arm comes out on the challenge we know to expect the ref to see that and call it.

Well I am biased but I think it's a great stadium.
Pete Carroll tried to play the completely inept offensive scheme he does so often when he goes conservative. Russ has pulled so many rabbits out of his backside over the last decade. Geno is not Russ. It was game over before kickoff with the same game plan.
