NFL 2024 Season

That's what I'm wondering myself reading the match statistics

Good teams find ways to win while playing poorly and unfortunately Detroit are very good.
Only beat Houston courtesy of two incredibly close 50+ yard field goals, the second of which came in the dying seconds of the game to snatch it..

I actually noticed this too. Definite fraud watch for them this week since the other two decent teams they played put a bit of a beat down on them (or Houston did for awhile at least, still not sure how that was close at the end).
The Bills issue is their run defense. If you can't stop the run in the NFL, I don't care how good the rest of your team is. It's nearly impossible to win consistently, and against good teams in the playoffs.

It's actually this reason, or at least on a par with the greatness of Mahomes despite what superfan @Kev The Rat says, why KC has been so hard to beat these last few years. Andy Reid has never had a defense this good.

Their run game this year is just 4 yards every play. No explosive runs but also no negative. And it works very well.

I’ve consistently said the Chiefs have the best D in the league if you look through my posts dating back to the AFC Championship game last season against the Ravens where Lamar was shut down.

D'ya know what - having watched the extended highlights it was clear that we weren't anywhere near our best offensively either. Hurts in & out, Brown & Smith largely isolated, Jake Elliott's kicking.. 💀

Thank god for Saquon Barkley though. The best running back in the league at the moment for me. The defense did a solid enough job too in the end.

Such a difference maker isn't he? Been so much fun to watch this season

Ancient civilizations that couldn’t write or play football famously designed all sorts of structures around the position of the sun on certain days. The Cowboys spent a billion dollars on this building and did not think about the concept of “afternoons.”

That's a good line...more here:

I wonder if Butker getting injured will be a bigger deal than talked about, he's absolute clutch from any distance and the Chiefs play a lot of tight games these days
They’ve signed a guy from the Jets practice squad for the next 3/4 weeks. No idea if he is any good or not. Agree Butker is probably the best kicker in the game along with Aubrey.

I’m starting think the Chiefs win on Sunday. We saw what happened to the Bills the last time they stepped up in class to play the Ravens. They were destroyed. They’re missing several key receiving threats as well.

They’ll be forced to run the ball and running on the Chiefs simply isn’t something that can be done with any reliability
