NFL Thread 2018

The draft has been good fun and the Giants are just hilarious at this point.

However the shadow of this Tyreek Hill situation hangs over it and he has to go when KC gets back to business on Monday.

The Giants have been shocking but the whole Josh Rosen thing seems unprecedented in ineptitude.

2018...you trade up 5 spots in the first round to select him. In doing so you give up a 3rd and 5th rounder.

2019...you trade him to Miami for the 30th pick in the second round (62nd overall) AND trade away your 5th rounder in 2020 just so they'll take him off your hands.

Some proper bizarre picks and trades over the first two days, but I'm relatively happy with the selections made by the Bengals so far. Jonah Williams looks game-ready for day 1 and fills a position of obvious need on the line, Semple makes sense when you look at our roster but perhaps was a bit of a reach in the second round, and Pratt is another decent prospect in a position of need.

I would have preferred to see us package up some of our r6 picks to move back into the tail end of the third round (Mack Wilson please), but there's still a chance we might get him today anyway.

Live interview with Tomlin here.

Really hard to dislike the fella.
Steelers are going to be good this year. The national media says we gave AB away. All local media and many former players (like Ryan Clark) know that being rid of AB (and to a lesser extent Bell) is addition by subtraction. Also - no way Steelers were getting more for AB in a trade, they cut their losses.

Getting Bush in the draft is the single most important draft pick the Steelers have had since Ben and Troy in the early 2000s. Steelers now have a Shazier replacement.

No better time than now to get good value on all your Steeler futures bets in Vegas

Will be interesting to see what they do. To me they look a mess, but Bush was a good pick. Still they lost two of the most talented players in the league and the teams in their division aren’t standing still. I’m in on the Browns for 10 wins. I can see the other three teams all winning 7 and not making the playoffs (although maybe that’s kind on the Bengals.)

Jones at #6 was a bit of a shock like, but if he comes good then all is forgotten. Didn't have much to work with at Duke.

Really like some of the other picks we made too, especially Baker and Connelly.

Wasn't keen on Haskins but hope he doesn't come back to haunt us.
