NFL Thread 2018

Steelers are going to be good this year. The national media says we gave AB away. All local media and many former players (like Ryan Clark) know that being rid of AB (and to a lesser extent Bell) is addition by subtraction. Also - no way Steelers were getting more for AB in a trade, they cut their losses.

Getting Bush in the draft is the single most important draft pick the Steelers have had since Ben and Troy in the early 2000s. Steelers now have a Shazier replacement.

No better time than now to get good value on all your Steeler futures bets in Vegas

Didn't really need Bell and w/ the cap you can't keep everyone. However he's extremely underrated and in 2017 was one of the 20 best players in the NFL. He's a tremendous RB who can also play the slot. Its an exceptional signing for the Jets. Some possession WRs make more than him.

AB on the other hand was the best non-QB player not named Aaron Donald in the NFL. Passing is going to be more difficult w/o AB soaking up double teams (while still being unstoppable). I loved the Washington pick but he's still got a year or 2 and kind of runs the routes Juju runs.

Probably 10-6 or 9-7 this year depending on SOS.

MLBs almost always take 1-2 years to develop. Shazier was a pro-bowler but he was out to lunch his rookie year.

Should be an interesting year for you guys . Still going to be reliant on the run game ?
I am a long suffering English, N.Y. Jets fan (and obviously Evertonian).
Moving to this thread just to stay on topic in the other:

I do think we will run more than anyone else but I'm also hoping the plan is to use the effectiveness of the run to open up all kinds of space to throw the ball. I'm excited to see what happens regardless because Jackson is just a completely different player to everyone but maybe Vick, and no one ever created an offense to maximize Vick's abilities.

The Jets should be a team on the up but then they went and fired their GM randomly which isn't a good sign. Mosley will do well for you guys but he has some games where he is a complete liability in pass coverage which is why ultimately I'm ok with the Ravens not matching the Jets offer.
