I'm with Rook (?), they're a 6 win team, and in that (bad) division maybe enough to make the playoffs

I was being sarcastic as it would be really funny for them to go mad celebrating to be brought straight back down to earth haha!!

I agree they have a decent team alright and just needed to get their house in order and seemingly putting Mayfield in finally helped steady the ship.

They have the Raiders next i can see them beating them well i hope they beat them as i cannot stand Gruden.

In saying all of that the pressure will now be on Hue Jackson big time. He has the players so he cannot make anymore excuses.

The only downside to the Browns is Greg Williams. He is a limited defensive coach and very much overrated and his attitude stinks quite frankly.

I liked Chucky first time around, but I'll be happy if he's terrible at HC now

I dislike him a little from MNF, even though he was decent, because I'm tired of the smug football heads in the booth (Collinsworth is the worst though, isn't he?). I also liked Kornheiser quite a bit, but I know many people couldn't handle him.

Yeah Collinsworth by far is the worst.

Maybe this year. I'm more concerned about the next 3-5 after that. Ben and Bell will both be gone. The Ravens are going to be switching QBs, GMs and possibly Head Coach too. Cincinnati look decent now but I've seen enough of Marvin Lewis and Dalton to know what that ceiling is. It really is there for the Browns to take.

In 3-5 years yea. However w/ a hard cap (even w/o one) its been an absolutely absurd 25+ year run of success.

Who Pittsburgh? I guess it's pretty impressive but it's tough to say it's absurd when NE have done miles better over the same time frame.

The AFC is pretty crazy in that since the turn of the century every Super Bowl except the Bucs v Raiders has had the Ravens, Steelers, Patriots or Peyton Manning's team. I don't really know what conclusions to draw from that and I also expect it to end this season but it's just wild for a league which tries to sell this anyone can win narrative.

I think it means that even if the NFL isn't the NBA, it's still a league which requires star players to win the big one

I was amazed looking at the list of Super Bowl winning QBs...

5 Brady
4 Montana, Bradshaw
3 Aikman
2 eight tied
1 twenty tied (?)

Quarterbacks are currently paid higher than everyone and while that makes sense, it has started to be important to win before paying a good QB. If you can get above average QB play on a rookie contract nowadays you will be able to build a strong team everywhere else. That's why the Rams, Eagles and Chiefs have such strong teams at the moment. Even going back guys like Roethlisberger, Brady (3), Flacco and Wilson won before being paid a lot and had really strong teams helping them as a result. Paying a QB that is short of the Brady and Rodgers tier a ton makes it difficult to have a strong enough team overcome the holes.

My point being I'd expect that kind of thing to continue in that you'll have a lot of guys win 1 or 2 and get paid after which they won't be good enough to carry a weaker team. So your list will continue to look kind of weird.

Pats have been far more successful since 2001 but other than that SB loss in 94 they bottomed out in the 90s.
