Any insight from my American brothers as to whats going wrong in Oakland? Losing Khalil Mack seems to have destroyed the defense and from a position of promise 2 years ago with a good young quarterback, things seem to be going backwards quickly.

I am sure i read somewhere that they had given Gruden a 10 year contract!!!! Knowing the Davis family, he'll be lucky to see out year 1 of that the way things are going.

Bad management and Gruden, who was a great coach, has been out too long and lost his touch.

There’s probably more too it, and giving up a guy like Mack can deflate the locker room as well, piling on top of other problems.

Oakland's front office is a train wreck, and has been for quite a while. Think Newcastle, Aston Villa or Sunderland

From a personnel perspective, the loss of Mack is huge. And the timing of when they traded him was odd, b/c they couldn't spread around those dollars saved to other positions. So they essentially just lost their best player without having a replacement (Lukaku's departure). In a salary cap league, where everyone is on an equal playing field, the Raiders really won't be until next offseason.

Add to that the utter lack of a running game and it's a recipe for disaster. Marshawn Lynch is too old to be their entire running attack. I still am a believer in Derek Carr, but there has to be somebody to take the pressure off him

Wait, so you're telling me that being owned by a man who drives 400 miles to get this haircut isn't conductive to a well ran organization?

Regarding the bowl cut, Keown writes that Davis travels more than 400 miles from his home in northern California to Palm Springs just to get it cut at the same barber:

"In perfect Davis family fashion, it's a middle finger to convention. Davis travels to Palm Desert to get it cut, just as he traveled to Chico from Oakland to visit a preferred barber long after he left college at Chico State. "I think he's had three barbers since college," [former Raiders WR Cliff] Branch says. "If he likes something, he stays loyal."

I'm sure moving to Vegas will fix everything.
