The NFL is not a league for running QBs. The rules are set up to favour passing plays (think about all the PI calls), the money for decent passers is INSANE, the price of RBs has dropped dramatically over the last ten years, and NFL defenders are faster and heavier than their college counterparts.

If you're gonna run the ball in the NFL, use a running back. If you use your starting QB, sooner or later he will get badly hurt by a Clay Matthews, Patrick Willis or Vontaze Burfict. Any decent D coordinator, faced with a read/option offence, will tell his D to ALWAYS take out the QB. Even if it means the RB gets the ball and makes a chunk of yards, it's a running play so the QB can be blocked even after the ball moves to the RB and roughing the passer is not relevant.... block a guy hard enough, often enough and he will break. Look at RG3.

The NFL is not a league for QBs who don't do what they do best. Kaep was one play away from winning a Super Bowl. Plus he's big runs, upright and doesn't take too many shots. Yes if you run around like a headless chicken and throw your body around, drop your shoulder and take head shots like Griffith and Vick did (both of whom are much smaller QBs are well) you are going to get hurt. Even if you are small you can still run quite a bit if you are smart about it. Flutie rarely took a clean shot becasue he was smart about it.

Bears are terrible though. Win the division 7-9 and quick exit to WC team like Eagles or Lions.

Hey, you can only beat what's in front of you. We win the division and maybe get Arizona first round. Of course, win that and it means likely Seattle in the divisional game, but you never know.
In a way, the Saints have been a lot like Everton this year. Lousy defence, but on offence we have plenty of talent, just not showing it consistently. As a result, the records aren't as good as they should be.

Question for the crowd: are the Redskins the Kopites of the NFL? Inflated view of themselves, terrible transfer/free agency history, problems with race (last team to integrate, logo/name), been decades since they were at the top

For reference:

Cam Newton: 6'5" and 245lbs
Kaep: 6'4" and 230lbs
RG3: 6'2" and 222lbs
Vick: 6'0' and 215lbs

And RG3's major injuries have been to ligaments in his knees. By having an upright running style, Kaep risks similar injuries.

How many superbowl wins do those four have between them? My point is you can have the best running QB in the world, but you won't win the big game without a balanced offence - and unless your backup QB is a runner too, your playbook suffers.

Russel wilson will probably have 2 SB wins by Feburary. NO ONE SUSPECTS THE RUSSEL WILSON

HUGE game for my Chiefs this week. Beat Pittsburgh and we're down to winning at home against the Chargers to get the top wild card spot. Tough ask going into Pitt though.

Fuking Raiders might have ruined our season with that last minute win in Oakland.

Wooooot!! Jaguars, baby...

Break 'em up.

Tonight's big winner - Senderrick Marks - last play of the game was his eighth sack of the season, which triggers a $600,000 bonus. Big check for the big man.

I concur. Someone desperate.
I have this fuzzy feeling when he did his post game interview the other night with his Vandy cap drapped over his eyes and lack of interest could the Titans be his next destination. I must say their offensive line is killing any live arms they have Locker seems to get hurt every week. How long has Charlie Whitehurst been around he was taking snaps recently.

Wouldn't be surprised at this. Locker makes Chris Chandler look like Cal Ripkin, and there's no NFL franchise in Santa Claus, Indiana.

Those are the only two places left Cutler can go back to. He's done in Chicago, along with Mel Tucker and a long list of the guilty. Titans have a high pick and need a QB... Do they want to start another QB project? This may be discussed at length between now and the draft.

Virtuoso work from Caliendo here - The Night Before Christmas with all the ESPN voices. If you can get through the Lou Holtz without a spit take, you win. Also will leave all the non-Americans wondering what the heck is going on while we're laughing our arses off. Always a bonus.
