I was so excited when they drafted IRGIII, RGKnee, Bobby Three Sticks, whatever you prefer. What a waste. The team is a complete joke anymore and I'm tired of them being in the cellar year in and year out.

The Browns are one of the teams I want to do well. Can their fans get a break?

Some thought he would be RGIII-sus, but alas there appears to be no resurrection

WTAF is going on in New Orleans? Getting clobbered at home.

Plus, Brees' shoulder is shot

The Jags won did they?

Does it look like a false dawn, or do you think they're actually starting to turn things around there?

They did, and in a character matchup against the Dolphins they didn't blink yesterday. I think they're actually starting to turn things around. As always, I could be wrong. The fact that they can stay competitive at present with the numbers of injuries to key personnel they are carrying on defense is a sign that when we get the guys back (or at least some of them) we can compete. We'll know much more after the next two weeks...

First Pats, then Colts - both away.

Another factor is that head coach Gus Bradley is at least as positive as Bobby Brownshoes, which helps attract more and better free agents. Word is out that this is a happy locker room even despite all the losing in the past couple of years. Bortles really looked good yesterday - the receivers, not so much. We have a good owner with Shad Khan and a steady hand at the tiller with Gus.

I can say this on this forum - this city needed to have its butt kicked for this long to become a true NFL city. Things went really well really quickly here when the team was established, and you don't become a real NFL city until you've suffered in the wilderness for awhile and still prove you can put arses in seats. I think that has been established here now, though the rest of the NFL punditry division is just getting the memo that our team is here to stay. Most of these fans were used to winning about all the time as college fans (Florida, Georgia, Florida State, and yes, U Miami) but the NFL just isn't like that. Eventually you're going to find yourself in something that would look like relegation in the Prem, and you've just got to tough it out.

Didn't realise it was the Florida Derby

Heck of a win for Jacksonville then!

One more thing about the above post. The fanbase is increasingly made up of individuals who grew up with this team - we just hit twenty years old last year. The crowd in the stands is not the crowd that was there when Brunell was chucking it over the top to Jimmy Smith, and when Freddy T. was giving them that shake. It's a different fanbase than the college fanbase, and its younger, much more blue-collar and local (i.e. - low count of wools).

Though we are in Florida, this is not a glamour city, it's a workingman's town. We make stuff and move stuff, and get the nasty backoffice stuff done. That kind of grit is what this team is beginning to stand for - we get up and get back to the job.

Buffalo Bills fans chanting during their week 1 win ' We want Brady, We want Brady, We want Brady '

Well you got him alright. 466 passing yards, 3 TD's, 0 interceptions, 105.6 passer rating.

Now sit back down.

Dammit Aaron Rodgers, don't make me like you

“And then getting help from God,” Rodgers said. “I think God was a Packer fan tonight, so he was taking care of us.”

If Rodgers looked like he was struggling to keep a straight face, remember back to January’s NFC Championship Game. Wilson played horribly but the Seahawks came back to beat Green Bay. After the game, Wilson credited God for making him throw four interceptions, just so the victory would be that much sweeter. “That’s God setting it up,” Wilson said, “to make it so dramatic, so rewarding, so special.”

Rodgers scoffed when told of Wilson’s comments.

“I don’t think God cares a whole lot about the outcome. He cares about the people involved, but I don’t think he’s a big football fan.”

J E T S JETS JETS JETS JETS

What a win that was. So bloody special. Marshall and the Defence were ace, as was Fitzpatrick despite an end zone interception.

Roll on Philly and then London!!!!
