Broncos have a bigger following I would suspect. They've been in the league for a long time (1970) and established a fan base in the west; the Panthers are one of the more recent expansion teams and it's likely that their fanbase is much smaller as most football fans already followed a team by the time they were established in 1995.

Yeah, the initial lip sync was very badly done but I don't think that was actually Mars' fault - I'd imagine it was the tech.

Carolina don't actually have THAT long of a drought because they're a 90's expansion franchise, but yeah this is the vibe I was getting too.

I just moved away from Charlotte, where the Panthers are from. The Broncos have a bigger national fan base by far. They've been around a lot longer, and a lot of people are hoping to see Peyton Manning win a title and retire. The Panthers have only been around since the mid 1990s, so nobody past their early 20s grew up with them. Also, Charlotte is a strange town in that *nobody* is from there. It's a big financial center, and everybody you meet seems to be reasonably new to the city and already have their own loyalties. Think of them as the MK Dons of the NFL, only without the stigma of having stolen a team from another location.
