I just moved away from Charlotte, where the Panthers are from. The Broncos have a bigger national fan base by far. They've been around a lot longer, and a lot of people are hoping to see Peyton Manning win a title and retire. The Panthers have only been around since the mid 1990s, so nobody past their early 20s grew up with them. Also, Charlotte is a strange town in that *nobody* is from there. It's a big financial center, and everybody you meet seems to be reasonably new to the city and already have their own loyalties. Think of them as the MK Dons of the NFL, only without the stigma of having stolen a team from another location.

Who'd ever admit they work for BoA and support the Panthers.
