They won't let him walk but I think paying him the tag is stupid. He's a solid QB but he's easily shook by a defence.

DC Grudens's do not do negotiations well. They paid Albert Haynesworth 100 Million ffs.
Exactly the tag is too much for his worth. He won't claim much on free agency. Bit of bluff calling going on id guess

The NFL will return the $120 million it withheld from its players over the course of three years, reports The Wall Street Journal’s Matthew Futterman.

The ruling was decided last week by arbitrator Stephen Burbank after a grievance was filed by the league’s union in January.

According to the report, a discrepancy was discovered by an audit of league finances, which revealed that NFL owners created an exemption for three years’ worth of ticket revenue and kept nearly $50 million from players’ salaries.

“They created an exemption out of a fiction and they got caught,” said NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy called the incident a “technical accounting issue under the CBA involving the funding of stadium construction and renovation projects,” blaming it on timing.

$120 million is an 'accounting issue' or 'discrepancy'. Kind of puts the lawnmower money in the shade.

Not shocking when that clown oversees the operation.

NFL combine starts today...... who's everyone looking forward to seeing? Me..... Bona, Ramsey, Hargreaves, Spense and an outside in Oakman (played well in the pro bowl)

Someone also flies up draft charts at the combine. I put very little into it personally. You only need to see the footage of Tom Brady's combine workout to see how pointless it is.

Interested to see how the QBs perform, it's not a great class but there are a number of teams looking at a QB.

I really like Wentz and Goff. I was partial to Cook earlier in the year but thought he dropped off a bit. Hackenberg is an outsider, he's got a bit about him but I need to see more from him.

I say this, the combine isn't a great reflection of a player. Some train for the drills and don't practice nor showcase fundamentals.

I don't think any of this years class are near pro ready yet! Wentz maybe more than the others. Don't think theres much if anything worth fighting for this year at QB unless you're the browns and then you'll just take who you want!

Exactly. Look at the footage of Tom Brady's combine and it's like they found the whitest nerdiest kid they could to showcase. Yet he's one of the greatest of all time.

Agreed I don't think any are ready and I'd take Wentz. I'm not sure who the Browns are taking between either of them.

They've entertained Goff and Wentz during the SuperBowl so I think it's a case of them just deciding.

I think they're taking Goff myself

Yep, he looks so bad on that footage! Belichick and now Jack Del Rio have come out and asked for a more skills based combine.

I still enjoy watching it all, mainly for Mike Mayock's analysis

Let them.

I heard they were looking at Colin Kaepernick anyway so I wouldn't make bets until nearer the time.

I watched a few NDSU games over the season and kind of sort of remember Wentz short hopping quite a few passes. He could probably be good but probably has to sit a year or 2. Also keep in mind that in the FCS NDSU's running game and OL were so good that he never faced anything resembling a pass rush or a sofisticated pass D. So naturally the Browns will take him and start him on day 1.

Former FCS QBs, Warner, McNair, and Romo all spent at least a year on the bench. Flacco is an exception but he had a D and a running game to work with and they asked very little of him his 1st 2 seasons

If Hackenberg wasn't totally broken by the James Franklin Experience then I think he's the best QB of the bunch as long he goes to a stable side. Yes his final season was awful but I don't think anyone could have done well with that awful OL and even worse play calling that PSU had. If the Texans don't take him in the 1st round (they should) he'd be a good 2nd round pickup.

So Peyton has retired officially then.

He certainly divided opinions, but managed to go out on top in the end.
