Kind of like English footie, the NFL used to be so much better in the 70s-early 80s before it became all corporate and PROTECT THE SHIELD-Y. The crowds were epic.
Here is the Dolphins-Chargers playoff game from 1982. I won't spoil who won it if you want to watch. The greatest college or pro game ever played. Turnovers, points, boss backup QB, big plays, one of the greatest TDs in NFL history, epic comeback, and played in the greatest football stadium (which is obviously torn down because lacking adequate luxury boxes or something) etc.
The 1st half is abridged and in poopvision. The crowd at 8:20, yes Dolphin fans this is what it used to be like there.
The epic 2nd half in entirety (and a great recording). You should really watch the whole thing if you have a couple hours. Keep in mind it was hard as hell to pass up until mid 90s rule changes (55% completion was very very good), kicking was far from a sure thing, what both teams did that day was incredible.
