NHL

I am very nervous. I have never seen us in a Stanley cup finals. I have seen us lose in the Eastern conference finals a few times but this is all new.

I've been following the Habs since we moved to Ottawa (about 20 years ago now) because my Dad told me they were our team. Actually worked for years in Ottawa's stadium and have taken plenty of abuse off of their fans as they're my mates. Working during their Stanley cup finals run was a pain in the arse.

I got my first quality Habs jersey this year when they came out with a blue retro reverse (Gallagher). I caved after the last round and ordered the red home Price jersey. I never thought building a franchise around a goalie was a wise move in the modern NHL despite Montréal's history. He's completely shown me up and I love him for it. We are here off his back.
The Habs remind me so much of Carlton in the aussie rules football league. Carlton are historically the most successful football club in Australia, but they haven't won the big prize since 1995. The Habs are the greatest NHL club of all time, but haven't won a Stanley Cup since 1993. Although hopefully that will be rectified in a few weeks! So the Habs and Carlton have a lot in common. The similarities don't end there though, both clubs have the letter C on the front of their shirts as well.

That was Montreal’s big chance to make it a series. The Lightning did not play well at all and still got the win. I just can’t see the Habs winning 4 of the next 5 games.

Yeah. Like I said after the game 7 vs the Islanders they have an ability to just close the other team out of a game.

We need everything to go our way job and I don't think it is going to happen for us. Vasilevskiy is what others teams must feel coming up against a hot Price.

I'll say a prayer to the patron saint of lost causes, for the Habs to win the next four games.:( It look's like it's over now, but hopefully the Habs might win a game or two, to restore some semblance of pride.

I regret not getting into this sport sooner tbh, and i'm going with the Habs as my team. Is NHL as popular as NFL NBA and baseball in the USA? Obviously in Canada ice hockey is their favourite sport, but have us sports fans taken to hockey with the same enthusiasm as the canadians?

Hockey is quite a bit behind the other three in terms of general popularity. That being said, it is popular in certain regions.
I could be wrong but have a feeling the NHL was more popular in the 1990s than now

Hockey had a chance to increase its profile in the mid-1990s. Baseball had to cancel the World Series because of labor problems and basketball’s image was struggling after MJ’s first retirement. A lot of the stars at that time were petulant and not media savvy.

Of course hockey blew it with labor problems of their own, and the rise of a terrible, boring play style that swept the league like wildfire.
