Useless.

Turned up to sign at Goodison with his best duffle coat on. Scored a few first time efforts that look like complete hit and hopes in the context of his whole worthless career.

Moyes usually bought well, but FFS he never signed a decent forward other than Yakubu in 11 years.
So what are you saying Dave ? Should we put him in the hall of fame?

He says himself that he stopped putting the work in. Nothing to do with Moyes' coaching at all.

Just interesting that it happened to quite a few attackers with good goal scoring records. I'm not trying to say Moyes coached them into not being able to finish but probably asked them to do too much which meant they weren't fresh when it came to taking that chance. Ancelotti has made a comment about moving Richarlison to give him less responsibility defence wise because of this. You can now visibly see he's a bit happier and has scored more often.

Playing one up top for a lot of the time probably didn't help either.

I always thought if we somehow could have combined the two we got from Rangers into one, we would have had something special. Either, Jelavic with Naismith’s grit and tenacity, or Naismith with Jelavic’s talent. I wish them both well.

Just like AJ and Yakubu unfortunately.

Those two deffo come to mind.. AJ he kept playing cos he wasn't selfish and would run to the corner flag for Moyes all game, but the goals dried up.. the Yak knew better and I remember was just left out, inexplicably in my opinion. Always remember he got a game after time out, smashed in a goal, and was dropped next game.

Never signed well then did he if he only signed one decent striker in over a decade.:zzz:

Moyes even managed to turn Yakubu into a non goal scorer his goals had dried up before the injury and then he never starting scoring again until he went to Blackburn. Moyes spent big on 4 strikers (Beattie, Johnson, Yakubu and Jelavic) and also got Saha for nothing. They all had at least one purple spell but then they all went backwards. Moyes used to whinge that he never got the money for a Lukaku but no doubt he would have ruined him.

With regards to Jelavic not working hard enough I suppose it shows there is too much money in the game. Him moving to us will have set him up for life. I suppose you might lose a bit of motivation.
