Nikica Jelavic

A loan could have been a win win, Jelavic gets games, gets confidence and comes back fired up and may be helps us in Europe next season, any one who thinks we will sign £5/7m striker in this window will be disappointed IMO.

Nope, pure delusion.

Getting anything close to £7m for a striker who's scored 4 goals since New Years Eve 2012 is fantastic business, there's no two ways about it.

Even if we don't buy another centre forward this window, we might as well stick a jar of mayonnaise up front if we're in need of a sub, as it'll probably be more effective than he's been the past 18 months.

Jelavic will do well at Hull, as he'll have a striker partner nearly 100% of the time to take the burden off him and help share the goals around. He never had that at Everton.

Jelavic did a lot better when he was playing with Cahill who did most of the running around. I think he and Long will have a similar partnership.

Let's just put this into context.

Hull have paid about £15m for Jelavic and Long.

Juventus paid about £12m for Tevez and Llorente!
Let's also not forget the 200k a week for Tevez and 100k a week for Llorente, compared with no doubt 70k between Jelavic and Long.

Total cost over three years for Jelavic and Long: 25.1m
Total cost over three years for Tevez and Llorente: 48.8m

Ohhh.

Total number of goals that will be scored over the next 3 years

Tevez & Llorente > Jela & Long

Is it bad that I hope he doesn't do well at Hull? Had he moved to another league I wouldn't mind, but he he starts scoring goals in the PL again it's gonna feel like we're really missing out.
Yes it is, monster.

If it was as simple as him having a busy partner to play just off him then why have both managers not played him consistently in almost a year?

I'm pretty sure two high calibre managers like David Moyes and Martinez would exploit that if it was the solution.

Read: he's sh*te.

Except both managers favour 4-5-1

Bet alongside Shane Long he fires them in
