SPL: Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic demands to quit Ibrox and seal dream move to Everton

No, not the Scottish press, the actual Rangers fans FFS. He went there for £4mill, and they might double through on him. Still, £8mill is chicken feed in todays Aguero-world.
Do the rangers support see him as being replaceable for under £10 mill, is he an on the deck type or an aerial maestro? What service has he flourished with - for club and country.
Might we get Krancjar in as well?

Theres been much talk on the need for a proven goal scorer. I wouldnt disagree, but we have to balance that betwen what we can afford and the risk involved. Yes, he hasnt played in the EPL - so we have a risk of stepping up a level.

BUT - lets look at the safe bets from last Januarys transfer window. Torres and the spud farmer from Newcastle. £85 Million on what must have been considered the 2 safest signings of the window. Both strikers have been absolute disasters. Therefore you have to conclude that while it would be fantastic to spend mega bucks on big names there is no certanty that they will perform.

In our current predicament we cant afford the time or the money for big proven goal scorer.

I say go on Moyes. Take a punt. Lets get the guy in and hope and pray he does as well as others from lesser clubs.

This. Great post mate.

I just read the following on a Ranger site, its by one of their fans:

I'm baffled by this whole Jelavic situation. He's a great, technical player, but we played him as a lone striker. He still managed 14 league goals for us this season, which isn't bad, with 1/3rd of the season still left to play.

BUT, although only a few weeks ago he said he was disappointed with his form, and wanted to improve & stay at the club and help us win the league. Yet, twice missed games during the transfer window (where we coincidently play great and score 7 goals), and now seems to have worked his ticket out.

Fair play to him if/when he goes. Said he was only here as a stepping stone to the EPl, has been a good player for us alright. I really am disappointed to see him go,

if hes signing for us, an jags, dusty and hibbo get fit agian, we can only hope he has specialised in dealing with aimless hoofs forward.

Don't worry he will have plenty of practice as howard waves the defenders away to hoof aimlessly up the field.
