@BlueToff @Nymzee how was he defensively against the Madridistas?

Was good. He’s got a lot of energy, closes down defenders etc. He also does something rare in modern day youngsters in that if he loses the ball or gets tackled but wants a foul, he’ll actually go back and try win it.

The amount of kids I see now sat on the floor waving their arms for a free-kick whilst the oppo counter makes me want to cry.

Anybody heard whether he's been called up for the squad to play England next week. I can't find any details on line.

With the u21s...

That's a shame. I'd have liked to have seen him up against our lot.

Their U21s have an important qualification game next week so they probably decided he was needed for that.
Not seen much on this other than a short youtube video headed up "Vlasic and Brekalo is on fire". But Croatia won the decider against Greece 2-0 to top the group. Qualification should be a formality with their last game against San Marino, so hopefully we could see Vlasic in the full squad for the November rematch against England.

A deflected Vlasic shot (given as an own goal) put Croatia in front. Maybe one of our Croatian regulars can put some more meat on the bones as I've not been able to find anything.

Not so great game. But no wonder, if you ever watch how Greece plays their games than you know what I mean. They close him very well. But that his shot Open the game for us, he have better second half. Croatian newspaper give him 6.5/10.

But there is something else I wanna point: Josip Brekalo. I Like Lookman, but this kid is Claas above. He is already very close to Perisic level. Everton should buy him, quickly, because price will be very high soon

His goal was fantastic. How old is he?

Exaggerate much? Come on, man. He’s talented, but Lookman was aces in the same league Brekalo is in on a better team. Lookman was arguably the best player on a U20 team that won the World Cup. There no objective evidence he’s above Lookman’s level.

It isn't a point of view I agree with, but nevertheless he has the right to make a choice surely.

He says wearing the arm band goes against his religious convictions. Had that religion been Islam would you have openly said "no ta" because he's a muslim?

Anyway I don't think he's what we need at the moment so it's a no from me too.

EDIT

I haven't seen a translation of the twitter comment he denies making. I'd change my opinion if he made any overt homophobic comments. But simply not wearing an armband because it goes against his religious beliefs is not something he should be hung out to dry for.

I don’t think the issue is that he wouldn’t wear the armband. I think it’s his citing of Christianity as the reason. Not sure the logic made sense, thus he comes across as ignorant.

The civil rights movement has changed from "Allow us to live free from oppression!" to "You must do exactly what we say, and if you don't, then we will oppress and persecute you, to the point that we will happily ruin your life and career".
