Non League Football

Marine lose for just the third time in the league yesterday, going down deservedly, 3-2 at Leek Town.

Went out 3-0 on Pens to Bradford Park Avenue, in the FA trophy after a 3-3 draw.

Tough week, but compared to Everton, it’s a breeze

This weekend sees the unstoppable force, Kings Lynn, hosting the immovable object, Dover in what promises to be a thrilling bottom of table clash. Lynn have recently sacked Ian Culverhouse and the old goalie Paul Bastock is in temporary charge. I have wasted over a hundred quid on tickets so far this season and seen one home goal. Also the beer has been utterly [Poor language removed] (Stella Vier), and the burger stall is shut as the owner has asked for too much money for someone to take it on. I might just go to the pub.

Now that is a name that brings a bit of hatred welling up inside of me.

When he was playing for Boston in the 90s, Barrow had a bit of a rivalry with them in the old Unibond Premier. In one game, one of our players got an absolutely horrific injury, the game was halted and the players were sent back into the changing rooms while our player was being treated. Turned out it was a double leg break and I am not even sure if he ever played again. Anyway, Bastock who was at the far end of the pitch to the changing rooms, decided that he would be funny and mock our player by feigning a limp and started to laugh his head off as he was walking down the pitch.

I got absolutely pelted by coins on the resumption of the game, as I was stood right behind the goal, either I angered them as well or they were bad at aiming, to this day I am unsure lol

Good news mate. Bastock has now left the club. Tommy Widdrington? is now the man in charge. Names that roll off the tongue. Ohh Tommy Tommy, Tommy Tommy Tommy Tommy Widdrington.

Walthamstow FC today, baltic by half-time View attachment 146975
I played against Walthamstow Avenue in the early 1960's. It was an FA Amateur cup tie at Walthamstow. We travelled down from Leeds. Walthamstow were one of the top 'amateur' teams in those days. They had seven players who had played for the England Amateur team. Their centre forward (who I was marking) was Jim Lewis who had played for Chelsea as an 'amateur'. We lost! Their ground was a bit different to the one above with a big grandstand and covered terracing. Good crowd too, about 4,000.

I remember him from watching Welling in the early 2000's he was an absolute idiot then. Played for St Alban's by then. Always giving the fans chat and couldn't take it back.

Marine, of the 8th Tier, have sold the entire 2,125 capacity for their game against Bootle on the 27th.

Pray to god it goes ahead now.

Great day out if you haven’t tried it yet.

I had to pretend to be a Bootle supporter to get a ticket this morning

There doesn’t make a difference, the “away” tickets are just money which goes to Bootle post game in the receipts!

Going to be heaving! If you made the Wrexham game you’ll know how full it gets, add an extra 350 to the mix and it’ll be carnage haha!
