Always known it as LD myself. But being English, not sure why if I am honest. You said referring to it a LD would upset "people on here", so assumed that referring to it as Derry would upset others.

No offence or anything, genuinely curious.

Can i ask why?, anyone living and drinking in liverpool will encounter irish people on an almmost weekly basis and i have never heard one refer to it as that. The football teams called Derry City that soccer not GAA. Where does LD come from?

Yes mate. Fourteen people got murdered in Derry by the British Soldiers aka the Paras and that clown is referring to Derry as London Derry so people are very upset cause some of their families got killed
