Seriously, what does Cleverley actually do? Every time he plays people say he's had a great game. I never see him make a) a run b) a key forward pass c) a telling tackle d) score a goal e) a cross or an assist. I can understand players like McCarthy do this but I can see McCarthy when he plays working hard. Cleverley just seems totally anonymous.
Really? Like you actually watched the match today and actually drew this conclusion?

I guess what upsets me the most, is that this Everton team has a lot of talent which is not being realised. Everton is missing an opportunity of massive proportion this season...it will pay a hefty price for it I fear

I think this is everyone's problem. It's one thing drawing against a top side away from home with an average side playing above its level a la Moyes. Or even a spirited defeat. It's another when you see some of the best players to ever put on an Everton shirt in the modern era unable to eek out a win against the dregs of the premier league.

People used to quote NSNO to me when I'd defend Moyes.
Say what you like about him but he got his players running through walls. These lads don't look like they want to get out of bed.

Never had a period like this before[/QUOTE]
In the season before we won the championship in 1970 we played some fantastic stuff as THT got their act together. Finished third and I just knew that we were on the brink of something very special. I know.....I know.....it's the hope brutally dashed that wears you out.
But I've been watching Everton since 1962 and feel that excitement now for the first time since Ball Harvey Kendal. Too young to have appreciated the 1963 vintage. The 1984/85 side was in essence a surprise that started in or around that Oxford match and built momentum from there.
But I can honestly say that I feel the same about the Fab Four now as I did in those far off days of the late sixties. They're playing football the way it should be played. Forget boring Utd and Chelsea. Ignore the nouveau riche Man City......they're impostors. This Everton side are the real deal......just a few young players who are getting some tough lessons about closing games out with professionalism. I for one would rather hope for better from them over time.
Frustrated with Bournemouth and today of course but also the most excited I've been since 1969 for the purity of the football we're playing. Absolutely love the passing game we have. With my length of service I can truthfully say "Everton that"

We can't score from corners and keep conceding from them. Something has to give. I would love someone to actually quiz RM on this. To hear his explanation as it's poor management not to address these issues when every dog on the street knows we are a soft touch on set pieces.

I can't see how you think that, tbh. He hassles and presses and gets in tackles, his passes are incisive and quick. Not saying he should play instead of McCarthy when he returns, but he's being very decent in the last few games.
