That night we beat West Bromwich Albion in 1970 to become Champions - the whole of Goodison sang together -

…..bare section with no grass in each goalmouth; The half-time scores down the side of the pitch; the two blokes with arms like Popeye who carried the Stadium advertising board; the programme shop; bobble hat snatchers.
Around 68/70 era (probably longer) one of the fellas was obviously called 'Joe' and the Street End would chant his name as they trudged along with the board, Joe would always smile and give a wave.
Walrus was also the match police Sergeant around that time, still recalled by all the arl fellas who went to the game, tall bloke ex Guardsman I think.
