10 past nine stabbing timeUnder the lights used to mean half seven kick off, all over by ten past nine!
Not sure if it was an intentional lob or a deflection but yes it went high over the keeper (Jim Mcdonagh?). The City fans went wild. A real sickener as was the replay.was that the goal he scored that deflected 30 foot up and over the keeper?
There is a vid somewhere Joey but I couldn't find itPity they missed Colin Harvey's goal -what better that was fit to any title.....
"Doo dah"!!!Half past nine is stabbing time, for night games in the 80's .
Walrus was sound , hard as nails but fair, if he gave you a tap with that long stick you knew about it.Around 68/70 era (probably longer) one of the fellas was obviously called 'Joe' and the Street End would chant his name as they trudged along with the board, Joe would always smile and give a wave.
Walrus was also the match police Sergeant around that time, still recalled by all the arl fellas who went to the game, tall bloke ex Guardsman I think.
Forgot that bit"Doo dah"!!!
I was right behind it in the park end - the joy on my late father's place when he saw that blinding Harvey goal out of the game of us about 12 - there are only 3 of us alive today ..... a memorable night for the family plus friends - Goodison absolutely rocked that night - just a brilliant team .....There is a vid somewhere Joey but I couldn't find it
I was behind Colin's shot from the Bullens Rd paddock standing on my beer crate. What a goal it was. Literally fit to win the League
HaHa was going to say the exact same thing. I used to watch the games on ceefaxDespite his 32 previous goals that season?
What year mate?
What year mate?
Despite his previous 32 goals that season. Are you sure? My memory of that gameDespite his 32 previous goals that season?
Didn’t realise that game was late in the season so my memory is out there, but I stick by my characterisation of Linacre during his career, he was a puddin’ of a footballer but a great goalscorer.Despite his 32 previous goals that season?
03/75? ... under cider, bottom right.….i’d guess about 1973.
