Not A Transfer Rumour..... Wayne Rooney

Romantic notion of him coming home unfortunately floored by astronomical wages demands.

Heard talk of a share issue in the club, can't see anything in this. Toress Chelsea style decline on the cards?

To be honest just didn't understand Moyes comments about Rooney being back up, that was always going to set Rooney off.

Yep, pretty strange that one.

If Moyes really does want to keep him, he's doing an awful job of it. I don't think he does, though. I think he wants revenge for how Rooney treated him in the past.

My guess is he's making Rooney the example. Show the others that it's Moyes' way or the highway.

A bit of a gamble, especially when he's trying to lure big names with a paper-thin reputation.

Agreed. Terrible man management by Moyes, suggesting Rooney will be needed 'if Van Persie gets injured' ...looks like he'll keep Rooney on the bench....revenge for the past and not exactly in the interests of the team, is what I'm thinking.Sounds also as if Moyes is going to play a strict one up front for Man U...we joked about RVP 'running the channels' but that looks as if it might be on.

Jeez I realise Moyes is under some sort of pressure to get results and impose his style on United but you can't help feeling that it's a well oiled machine that (right now) doesn't need loads of tinkering. Why is he threatening one of their key players with these kind of words? Why is he interested in Fellaini and Baines (which IMO sends out the message to the (last title winning dressing room) that these decent players are needed amongst a group of winners? It smells a lot like Clough and The Damned United story right now.

Rooney is the heartbeat of that team. He's been their key player ever since he arrived - and that includes when Ronaldo was there. Any manager not fighting tooth and nail to secure him is a divvy...hold on....

I'm increasingly thinking United have made a colossal mistake in allowing Ferguson to choose his successor. He's gone the sentimental, fellow-Glaswegian route.

I honestly can't wait to see how Moyes does at United... I think it's going to be dramatic.

Found out by Christmas, gone by next summer.

Sadly, it will be another 5 years before we see Rooney back at Goodison and it will be announced at the Everton awards night when Bill wins the "Howard Kendall Award " for the fifth occasions.

With tears streaming down Bill's face, he will scream " At last, he has come home!!!!!!"

Just as the fans were about to raise up against Bill and the board for the third failed ground move, he pulls the Rooney rabbit out of the hat and we all love Bill again.

He's a middle class, silver spooned wool if you ask me!

I take that back man, he's a great manager!!!

GIZ A MANC MELTDOWN MOYESY YOU MASSIVE BEAUT

Best centre forward since Gazza and he wants him as backup to Robin 'exploding knees' VP? Way to stamp your authority David. Awful man-manager and with his wafer thin reputation, I doubt he'll get many world class No.10s wanting to play under him.
*Cue Mourinho tap up
