FGS. They've all made it very clear that they don't want to play for Everton. What's wrong with you all?
I think the point being made is that when a new owner came in and started making noises about us not being a museum, having a short window to join the elite, bidding £60m for defenders and having no restrictions to spend, people may have thought that we would be able to convince them that they should want to play for Everton. The fact that we couldn't, with any of them, should be at the very least mildly concerning for anyone who wants Everton to do well.

We've replaced Barkley with Siggurdson. We tried to replace Stones with Koulibaly, and Lukaku with Giroud, but
they didn't want to come here. I mean, how hard is that to understand?

What am I not understanding here? We're still very light in quality in specific areas in the team, whether we tried or not. Yes it takes time but expectations must be lowered about top 4 chances because at this moment in time there isn't any.

Koeman himself has said for weeks he needs a striker and a left-sided central defender. Let's see if he gets what he wants.

There have been times in the past when the best players around wanted to play for Everton and that may
happen again, but it isn't the case right now. Moshiri has told us what he wants to do but creating a successful
football team isn't an exact science. It takes time and I'm happy with the progress we're making.
It took John Moores five years and it's a lot harder now than then. Be patient.

I am patient. I've seen us win 1 trophy in my 25 years going to the game, but I still buy my season tickets, I still travel 200 miles to away games and go to European dead rubbers when it's minus 10. Don't confuse questioning things that the club does with not understanding how things work or not being patient. I don't expect Everton to spend £200m, or to dominate games at Stamford Bridge, or to win the league. I'm well past that.

I just find it bizarre how some fans are so desperate to say everything the club does is amazing, there's an excuse for everything, and blatant lies/misdirection are swallowed. Making out like other fans are stupid because they question the club's ambition while at the same time using what increasingly looks like a phantom bid to point out how wrong they are isn't helpful in my opinion.

I was one in the more positive camp early on but that optimism was with the added expectation that we would address the striker situation. Like last year, we have left it until the final day to try and strengthen a key area and I very much doubt we will adequately fill that position now. If we do later then great, I will be optimistic again.

I'm less than impressed with Moshiri and Koeman if they let this happen this time. Last year we had the excuse that we came 11th and had no European Football. It's not like most of us are expecting the likes of Aguero or Lewandowski to come in or a 25 goal a season striker. We're expecting a striker capable of around 15 goals and I see no reason why we couldn't attract one. We have attracted good players in other areas so I don't think it's a valid excuse.

But who are these strikers who can score the 15 guaranteed? And would they come to a team who don't have CL? On paper it all seems so easy, but you just have to look at why Lukaku left us.

It's not hard to understand, we pay people a lot of money to identify realistic replacements for players who are certain to leave. They are given ample budgets and long periods of time. If they fail, they should be held accountable, like any professional. Why is that hard for you to understand?

Benteke is one. Not necessarily guaranteed to get 15 but he has done it before in poorer teams than ours. 19, 10 and 13 for Villa who were awful and 15 for Palace. I'd rather we spent the money on him than Sigurdsson even though Sigurdsson was a good signing. Benteke would surely come here.

There has to be others out there too.
