Climate is changing no doubt, I just am doubtful that the 0.04% carbon in the atmosphere is really the cause.
Fluctuations in small quantities can have large effects. 0.1% blood alcohol content is great, unless you intend to drive or otherwise operate heavy machinery. 0.4% and you're dead. Getting far away, at all, from the median 7.40 blood pH will also kill you in short order.

Again, thanks for your expert scientific opinion, random man from Tipperary

That's quite a big fluctuation you mentioned a third of a precent.. carbon has gone up a 20th of 1 precent and not all of that is man made...

This is exactly what the CA forum should have been, no separate threads just an absolute orgy of bonkers people screaming at the moon. If the mods ask this definitely isn’t the successor to the CA forum

It more or less exemplifies the problem. I understand the point @RAFUH raised that CA was supposed to be a free-for-all, with the punishment for stepping out of line simply removal from the sub-forum. I just don't think that approach works anymore, with politics having become as contentious and divisive as it has become.

Having been on their side of the desk for a while about fifteen years ago, I would want no part of the headache either.

I completely understand that and get the point of the mods not intervening. You can’t really have a forum of free speech if it’s moderated like 1984. On the other hand some of the posts in there bordered on hate speech and internet forum or not would probably land people in trouble if the right people saw those posts. I’d put money on some people loosing their jobs if those messages were sent to their employers and made public. They could hide behind freedom of speech all they wanted, it’s not our fault they don’t actually understand the rules and laws around it. I have a lot of tolerance for a lot of things but ignorance in an age when anything can be looked up and not just things that support your own side of an argument are not one of them.

I get social media is an echo chamber but in 2023 there’s absolutely no excuse for the down right stupidity of some peoples opinions
