I'd say that if someone really wanted Fellaini, that they'd have to give us at least what we just spent on him last year.

The RS really, really wanted rid of Keane, he was shocking, the same couldnt be said about Fellaini.

I'd take anything for Vaughan at the moment because I don't think he'll make it.
 
We paid way over the odds for Fellaini in my opinion, simply because we needed a player and he was available. If Moyes had the money and we weren’t so desperate and I am confident that we wouldn’t have paid 15 million for him. Obviously that’s just my opinion.

I’d also expect the club looking at him to scout him and see what he’s about, like any realistic fan they’d see that he’s out of his depth as a central midfielder. The reason Moyes moved him out of harms way.

Would I pay 15 million for a centre midfielder who wins headers and is neat and tidy? No chance. Would I pay 15 million for a second striker who scores 9 goals a season? Again, no ******* way. Would I pay 15 million for a player who quite clearly has some major deficiencies? I think you know the answer.

What I’d do is I’d look at similar/better options like Peter Crouch. Someone who scores more goals and is also a better link man. He’d also cost less than 15 million.
 

One of the problems with discussions of prices is that it's assumed that the money can then be spent on an equivalent or better player at an advantageous price.

However what about if I sell Yakubu for 13m but I can't buy a striker to get me the same number of goals for less than 18m? Or do I consider 13m is over the odds and there's a glut of midfielders which pushes the price down in an area I need to strengthen? So I sell him to increase the value of the squad overall.

(Is that opportunity cost, TX? My memory of economics is fading...)

Im sorry, but if you think Tim Howard is worth anything like £10m or £15m you are so so wrong.
 
I don't, I think he's worth 7m but I wouldn't sell him for less than 10m. Go ahead and find an interested keeper with more ability and consistency for less than 7m, Craig Gordon cost £8m fgs and he's not even close to Howard
