My first impression with these things is that they're modern. Then I realise that they're probably 20-25 year old models. That's how old my classic MG midget was when I bought it 30 years ago. Then I realise how much older I got while I wasn't paying attention. Ffs!
Price of cars temporarily had me looking for a classic Toyota 4X4...then reality hit, like you mention. This thing's only 4 years younger than me...FFS, indeed. Still take it, TBH...what I'd like now is going to cost me $50k+.

I think they are older than that! 20 years ago I bought my first brand new car and it looked a lot more modern than those... Time flies.
Blimey! 300sl? They're like £5 million now!
Don't think they're anything like that much, around 1-1.2 or 1.5 for a perfect one in fully original condition.
Saying that, a 300SLR just broke all records at auction, 140 million dollars or something daft.
Just nice to see them out and obviously getting used. So many people with the means to own them just keep them locked away.
There was a Maserati 3500 left outside in Abu Dhabi for absolutely months on end a few years back, nobody had a clue who owned it or where it went when it suddenly disappeared one day.
