Harry, as was his wont, bougnt Pickering on the strength of that game...and the fact we were gash up front.Tony Kay was in the team for the first game I attended on November 9th 1963 against Blackburn. He was sent off in the first half for retaliation after being fouled by Bryan Douglas, and only saw him a couple of further occasions after that.

Douglas ran the game, (I'd forgot about getting Kay sent off) so much so that he brought in Denis Stevens especially to man mark him in the next seasons home game
Much to the delight of then Echo cartoonist who had Douglas at the half time food counter, saying 'tea and a sandwich please' with Stevens right behind him saying 'twice'
