I just missed him - my late father, and my older brother reckons he was class - harshly treated compared by today's standards!
Tony Kay was in the team for the first game I attended on November 9th 1963 against Blackburn. He was sent off in the first half for retaliation after being fouled by Bryan Douglas, and only saw him a couple of further occasions after that.
 

I was too young to go to the match then, but I watched this the other week. Fabulous. I did get taken to see the Holy Trinity a good few times before Bally went to Arsenal...Thank God ! Here some of the match


I was stood under the Goodison Rd stand at the Park End behind a wall. That was my favourite and safest spec. Just looking at Alex Young's goal brought such fond memories of this understated footballer. I count myself extremely lucky to have seen the man play.
