Wayne Clarke in his Wolves days
Did I ever tell you.....?

...not sure if that was the game where Viv Anderson scored a screamer in the Gwladys St. Always stuck in my mind that goal as great technique with the outside of his right foot into the far corner.

Think as someone pointed out the Anderson goal was a league Cup night match (2-3) I think the season after the pic. The pic with Dunc (1-3) was the season opener and we thought we were going to bury them. Afterwards we thought here we go again another bad season but that was underestimating that great Forest team because we had a very good season

We battered them in that league cup game,Latch put us one up early doors and we just couldn't get a second to kill them off, they scored three in what seemed a blink of the eye, we pulled another back near the end and bombarded them again all to no avail, they had a bit of an indian sign over us at that time!!:)

They beat most teams especially the other lot in the European cup - a certain Kenny Burns kicked them a bitlol

Bernie the Bolt - The Catt made a few bad signings but he was no 1 bad signing { using some of the fee off Bally too}
That made it worse - this guy in the days of tight shorts looked like we never had a kit to fit him - I remember an away game v Leicester at the old Filbert street - the comedy alone was worth the trip , and gate money - to say he was a bustler was an understatement he was huge his undersized kit did not helplol
Evidently the Catt was scared of him, the alleged story goes Chairman John Moores gave all the first team players a hamper with a bottle of scotch - the next day Bernie after consuming the whisky came in the next day still sloshed realising he was not on top pay he decided he wanted a showdown with the Catt over his low pay demanding a pay raise - Labby warned the Catt he was on his way up in an unfit state angry - The Catt hid in his office wardrobe, and told him to get rid - after a tussle Labby, and a few of the team threw him on the back of the outgoing groundsmans wagon, and the Catt sacked him that evening he went back to play for Walsall which was about his level with the blues losing money on the transfer - lol
Was there any truth in the story that he turned up to sign wearing a donkey jacket with the sporting life stuffed in his pocket?
They were supposed to have taken him to Burtons at the bottom of the road to smarten him up for the signing.
