..I was gutted sitting in the stands. Weird how we beat them 6-0 at Hawthorne’s just a few weeks before. Remember Brian Labone saying you rarely beat any team 3 times in the same season.

I was also lucky enough to go as an eight year old, was absolutely devastated! Sat in the back of the car on the way home, between my Uncle and Grandad, and cried most of the way back to Liverpool!

..understandable, I actually felt worst when Tommy Booth scored with the last kick of the semi-final against Man City. To be fair, we got recompense a few times in the mid-80s.
