1968 Cup Final, look how gutted Bally is!
I think there were 20,000 ( at least ) Everton fans gutted with him that day, remember Jimmy Husband missing with the header a couple of minutes before the end of normal time, later on Bally took the blame for that miss, he said he'd shouted at Husband to leave it for him ( Bally): I think he was just covering up for Jimmy, either way it was avery sad day.

My single most sickening result ever...and this is Everton we're talking about here, there's a lot to pick from.
Though tbf, that City semi and the Storey-Moore game are up there in the top 10 too.

Ah Youth, the highs are really high and the lows are devastating...well till tomorrow anyway

Agree with all of the above.
Do you recall another game against WBA at Goodison 1967 I think. 4-1 up against them midway through second half and we took the foot off the pedal and they came back to make it 4-4.
Normal service resumed with Alan Ball putting a penalty away to give us the win 5-4.

That Notts Forest game was a real sickener, Storey Moore got a hat trick, Jimmy Husband with two for us, Alex Young
had one of those days when he was just a vision ( nothing golden about him that day) on a mud splattered pitch, he came off at the end with his shorts as spotless as they were when he started the game, loved him but he could exasperate you at times, that day was definitely one of them. !!!

Just to give a bit of context, that was the best Forrest side until Clough & Taylor. They were runners up in the league & went out of the FA Cup in the semis, beaten only by the eventual winners, Spurs. They were only a couple of injuries away from doing the double. None of which eases the pain, of course.

Probally the worst game Labby played too - Frank Wignall our former player gave Nima and Hursty a torrid time - We were also without Joe Royle......also Andy Rankin in goal had a bad off day under the severe pressure from Forest....
