Old Everton Pictures

Huddersfield players look like Dennis Clarke, Frank Worthington & Trevor Cherry !!
Frank Worthington was young in this one. What a marvellous footballer he was, sad to hear that he is not well. He's about 70 years old.
Must tell you this though> Alf Ramsey once said to Frank whilst he was playing for England, " I'll probably pull you off at half-time" to which Frank
replied " Thanks boss , I'm only used to half an orange". Needless to say, Frank was never selected again by Ramsey.

25th January 1975 Mick Lyons slides the ball home at Plymouth, in front of 7,000 travelling fans, as Everton progress through the Fourth Round of the FA Cup in a 2-1 away win-

3-1

I can always remember that day, I was working on a Naval Base in Cornwall at that time, and obviously went to the game at Home Park. I met some
Everton supporters behind the goal before kick off and they were telling me that British Rail laid on 14 special trains from Lime Street for Everton Fans
& RS fans who were playing away at Ipswich the same day. The Everton supporters said Everton had 13 trains and Liverpool had 1, but the best news
was the RS lost 1-0.
